I finished reading your book a few days ago and I must tell you that I really enjoyed it. It is very well written and it was hard to put down once I got going. I especially liked your descriptions of growing up in Barbados. I could identify with so much of it. The one that stands out is your talk of the church excursions and singing 'A-Amen' as we reached our destination. I can remember many such occasions so vividly. I thank you for rekindling many moments like these for me.

I have to say though that much as I enjoyed the story and the writing I am still in shock after reading your account of the accident. It just sent such a shudder through my heart when I read that chapter. I knew from our discussions on the plane that you had to deal with some type of tragedy in your life but I just can't imagine what it must have been like to have your husband and son taken from you right in front if your eyes like that. It is one thing to read such things in books or see them in movies but when you were talking to the survivor just days before it really does hit home.

As I was reading the book I couldn't help but remember when I asked you if you had children. I recognize now that that must have been such a difficult moment. Of course I had no idea of your story them but I still feel somewhat guilty for having asked it. You are truly a remarkable woman having got through what you did and I am proud of all that you have achieved since.

I know that most of our discussion in the plane surrounded religion. I recognize very much throughout the book how much your faith kept you going through the many tribulations and believe you me, I understand that. I must say that although you mention faith a lot you didn't come across as preachy. That for me was a definitely plus. You didn't go it to that much in the book about the details of what you believed, but maybe those are discussions we can explore at another time.

I do have some questions on some specific things in the book though but again I will leave those until another time. Not surprisingly, I also have some different interpretations of the events that you viewed as divinely arranged but we can also explore those more in the future.

All I want to say to you now is well done and Congratulations! I trust that your life has many more chapters to be written with many more triumphs ahead.
